Speciale EMO 2023

Italy among the main players at EMO

EMO Hannover runs from 18 to 23 September. The global event devoted to the machine tool sector will showcase the latest technological developments. The facts and figures give a clear sense of the importance of the event. There will be over 1,600 exhibiting companies from 43 countries, with Germany and China the most widely represented nations in terms of occupied exhibition space. But EMO Hannover is also an important point of reference for Italian companies. And here, too, the numbers speak for themselves: our country is the third largest in terms of occupied exhibition space and over 200 Italian companies will be showcasing the best of their innovation in the halls of the Hanover trade fair. The last edition of EMO Hannover, organised in Germany in 2019, was attended by some 3,500 professionals from Italy. 51% of the roughly 116,700 visitors from 149 countries came from abroad. The slogan of EMO Hannover 2023 is ‘Innovate Manufacturing’, which is on the one hand an invitation for clients to invest in new technologies, and on the other an incentive for manufacturers to present their latest innovations and solutions. In addition to the innovations and new items making their world debut here on the exhibition stands, there will also be a busy calendar of events aimed at giving visitors a more in-depth view of the main trends. Through ‘Future Insights’, the fair will analyse tomorrow’s world. Meanwhile, ‘The Future of Business’ will focus on new markets, new business models, and the potential for a culture of innovation in the corporate environment. It will also look at ways of adopting more streamlined procedures, the creation of a know-how of methods, and changes in structures and working methods. The ‘Future of Connectivity’ area will cover trends related to Industry 4.0, IIoT, digital business models, predictive maintenance, machine learning, connectivity, interoperability and artificial intelligence, as well as virtual and augmented reality applications. The ‘Future of Sustainability in Production’ area, finally, will examine ways of integrating sustainability solutions, one of the most urgent problems of our time that is already at the investment planning stage.
